 HERITAGE NO : 528 George played six matches for the Saints during World War Two. He also played 17 matches for his home club Wigan during the same period. The last game that George played for the Saints was on Christmas Day 1944. That instance demonstrates the friendly collaboration between the clubs in those days. George came into prominence with Wigan in 1950 - 1952 when he played another 52 matches for the Riversiders and picked up winners Challenge Cup and Championship medals.
