 HERITAGE NO : 543 Fred Hamer played six matches for the Saints from September 1942 to April 1943. The second row or loose forward faced Yorkshire opposition on all six occasions and unfortunately every game ended in defeat for the Saints. Fred originally was on Liverpool Stanley's books and actually played for Leigh against them in September 1940. Fred was living in Thames Road, St Helens and working as a Pan Moulder in a Colliery.
