 HERITAGE NO : 279 William was essentially a winger who played 8 matches for the club during the later years of World War One. However, his first official match for the club was against Keighley in December 1920. He played a total of 15 official matches for the Saints between 1920 and 1922 and crossed for his only try in the loss to Barrow. The Blacksmith's Striker was living in Napier Street, St Helens in 1939. William died in his hometown in October 1962 aged 63.
