Biography of George Kennedy



HERITAGE NO : 98
We believe that this player was George Kennedy who also played for Widnes. He was a very lively half back who played 38 matches for the Saints between February 1901 and February 1903. He played mostly at scrum half but also donned the centre and stand off shirts. He scored a total of six tries for the club. Half of these were in the match against Altrincham on the first of February 1902. He also scored singleton tries against Millom, Bradford and Altrincham again.

George was a cooper and we find him living in Hibbert Street, Widnes in 1939. He died in his hometown in 1947 at the age of 69.
