Biography of Frank Nolan

HERITAGE NO : 620
Frank Nolan by SHS

Frank was a wartime player for the Saints, although he played just the one match for his home-town club! He began his career with Peasley Cross Juniors and went on to play in the front-row for Liverpool Stanley and Halifax, making 54 appearances for the latter in ten years. Frank joined Leigh on loan in April 1940 and kicked the last goal for the club at Mather Lane, ironically against St. Helens. Frank moved to Burtonwood and died there in February 1994, aged 77. His brother, John, played in the A team at Knowsley Road and lived to be over 100!
