Biography of Robert Thompson



HERITAGE NO : 578
Robert Thompson was a grafting forward who played for the Saints during World War Two. He played five matches for the club in the back row or prop forward. He was a tough customer and hard tackler. Thompson could also kick goals. In 1939 he was living in Chauncey Street, Wigan and working as a Labourer in a Steel Works. The married man joined the Royal Scots Fusiliers during World War 2. Sadly he was not to make it back to his home in Wigan. RJ Thompson, #3455013, was killed on the 10th of November, 1944. We would dearly love to receive an image of Robert or any other playing or personal details.
