Biography of Charles Wyatt

HERITAGE NO : 403
Charles Wyatt was a local forward who played nine matches for the Saints in the 1932-33 season. He followed in the footsteps of his father, James, into the seniors at Knowsley Road. This is verified by the same address in the Rugby League Registers, as Gertrude Street in Thatto Heath.

Unlike his father, who was an elusive winger in the 1911-12 season, Charles was a versatile forward playing at prop or in the second row. In the match against Rochdale Hornets, he scored a try as part of a 47 points to 19 Saints victory. We know very little about Charles after his playing days were over, although he must have moved down south with his wife Irene, as there are references to streets in the Twickenham and Isleworth areas of London in the various Electoral Registers. He died in May 1978, aged 80 and was living in Percy Gardens, Isleworth. We would love to hear any further details about this player.
