 HERITAGE NO : 750 Ted played two matches in the second row for the Saints in 1958. This Rhodesian was signed by the Saints in 1958 at the start of the player import craze from that part of the world. The scan in the gallery shows Ted and his wife, Joyce, arrival in the country following a voyage from Durban to Southampton. He is listed as a fitter and was aged 29 on arrival. He eventually moved to Blackpool Borough in an exchange deal with Tom Grundy. Ted returned to South Africa where he died in December 2000 at the age of 70. |
