| Joe Cunliffe played just two matches for the Saints in 1936 and 1937. He played on the wing against Hull KR and at loose forward against Dewsbury. Both games were close affairs with the Saints losing the former but getting the upper hand against Dewsbury. He died at an early age in his hometown in March 1952, aged 40.
