 HERITAGE NO : 22 George Fildes was a tough forward who played 26 matches for the Saints in the early days of the Northern Union. This local lad scored his only try in his final first team match against Broughton Rangers in April 1896. George was a General Labourer who resided for the greater part of his life in York Street, St Helens. He died in February 1941 at the age of 71. Dave Dooley |
