 HERITAGE NO : 595 Aubrey Hillman played three matches for the Saints in the War Emergency League in 1943 and 1944. The St Helens Reporter observed that he was a rugby union trained player. He played centre in these games which yielded two losses and one drawn game for the Saints. In his last match the match report concluded that his fitness was lacking and he soon pulled a leg muscle. Doubtless, the time lapse between matches could well account for his condition on the day. He died in St Helens in December 1983, aged 59. We know that Aubrey married Flora Irene Fitzpatrick in Bootle 1949 and later moved to live in Ellis Road, Billinge.
