 HERITAGE NO : 475 Fred Howard by SHS According to various references in the St.Helens Newspaper and Reporter, Fred was a local lad who was also a first-class hooker. It is presumed that he spent much of his time in the A Team at Knowsley Road, given that he made senior appearances from 1937-1940. Fred was working as Railway Wagon Loader and lived in Ewart Road, St Helens in 1939. He died in his hometown in June 1978, aged 61.
