A front row forward known as the Big Bear, Henry played two matches for the First Team during his career at Knowsley Road. His first was a really tough assignment at Headingley against Leeds on 10th November 1928. The Saints excelled themselves by coming back from Yorkshire with a share of the points in an 8-8 draw. The front row for that match was Maudsley, Harold Smith and Lou Houghton.

His final game for the club was at Swinton, 0n 24th November, when the homesters won 16-2. The front row on this occasion was Atkin, Smith and Maudesley. According to the Rugby League Registers, Henry resided at Weymouth Street in St.Helens. In 1939, his wife Mary was living in Eldon St Helens and Henry was excluded from the Census. He passed away in St Helens in December1968 at the age of 63. If anyone has any information on this player, we would be grateful for any help received.
