 HERITAGE NO : 288 Desperate for a new face to replace the somewhat ageing Tom Barton, John was signed from the Hawick RU club and featured in just one match against Oldham at the start of the 1921 to 1922 season. The Saints went down at home by 10 points to 3. He played full back in this match. Remarkably, John returned to Scotland and never played for Saints again.
