Biography of George Owens



HERITAGE NO : 356
George Owens was a very lively scrum half whose nickname was Dodger. The former Swansea RU Club and Wigan player had gained many honours in his days at Central Park. He played 7 matches for the Saints between January and March 1928 and drew winning pay on six of these occasions. Dodger scored two singleton tries against Leeds and Hull. He was a Bulider's Labourer and in 1939 he was living in Brynglas Crundale, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. George died in December 1978, aged 84 and his death was recorded in South Glamorgan.
