Biography of Charles Purslow

HERITAGE NO : 185
Charles Purslow was a second row forward who played two matches for the Saints in January 1909. He was part of a triumvirate of signings, including Bradley from Keighley and Bedworth from Castleford. Purslow, from Warrington completed the transfer market activity. Apparently he had not played for a while and needed to get back into the swing of rugby once more, but, apparently, things did not work out at Knowsley Road. Charles lived in Grange Road Haydock in 1911 and worked as a Chauffeur for a local colliery. 1939 saw Charles living in Warrington again in Roscoe Street. That particular Census listed him as an RAF Pensioner. If anyone has any further information, or even an image of this player, we would like to hear from you.
