Biography of Henry Roughsedge



HERITAGE NO : 237
Henry Roughsedge, a local product from the Thatto Heath area, played eleven matches for the Saints first team. His first game was against Leigh in March 1914. However, he had to wait until World War One was finished until he played his next match. He played second row mostly but also was seen in the front row as well. His son, also known as Henry, played for Saints and the Recs some years later. The local Kiln Wheeler lived in Dam Row, St Helens in 1939. He died in his hometown in March 1962 at the age of 68.
