 HERITAGE NO : 1164 Stephen came on as a substitute in three matches for the first team. His debut was the famous match against Catalans Dragons in August 2006 when a very young spirited team almost beat the frenchmen. His other two matches were in the following campaign. Stephen continued his career with Whitehaven, Harlequins, Halifax, Rochdale Hornets and North Wales Crusaders. Dave Dooley. Additional information by SHS Born in Billinge, Stephen attended Newton High and signed for the Saints on leaving school in 2005. After his much-lauded debut against the Catalans, he left Knowsley Road for Whitehaven, initially on loan, before being signed by Harlequins in 2007. His rugby league odyssey since then has included spells at Widnes Vikings in 2009, Halifax, Sporting Olympique Avignon, Rochdale Hornets, North Wales Crusaders, Hemel Stags, a further spell with Whitehaven [2015] London Skolars in 2016. His most successful spell was with Halifax in the Championship, where he made 45 appearances and scored 14 tries. In August 2021, Stephen could be seen showing his cricket skills in a single wicket competition organised by Saints' Past Players at Prescot and Odyssey CC. |
