 HERITAGE NO : Roy was signed from local amateur outfit Haresfinch Bulldogs. He played in the second row position for the Saints Academy. Roy left the Saints in 2003. On the 9th of January 2002 Roy came on as a substitute in an away First Team friendly against Warrington Wolves.After his days at Knowsley Road Roy played and coached Rugby Union for a successful team at Sparsholt College where he was training for his job as a game keeper. He also recalls that Paul Loughlin had persuaded him to play for Garswood Stags for a while. Away from rugby Roy worked as a game keeper for Lord Derby in Knowsley, eventually being promoted to the position of head game keeper. After 13 years he left that job to work at Pilkington Architectural alongside Saints legend Paul Loughlin. In 2021 Roy was employed as a coating technician for Pilkington Glass at Cowley Hill site.
