 HERITAGE NO : 1200 Willie Manu was an Australian rugby league footballer of Tongan descent who was signed from Hull. He had previously played for the Wests Tigers, South Sydney Rabbitohs and St. George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League as well as the Castleford Tigers in the Super League. In 2009 in a Test match against the New Zealand Kiwis. He was an immensely strong forward with a superb offloading ability. He regularly broke tackles and left defences in his wake. His time at the Saints was charcterised by his flair for offloading and attacking prowess. It was fair to say that the other Saints players needed time to adapt to his play but by the end of the 2013 season they had learned to support his play and were reaping the rewards. Willie was selected to play for Tonga in the 2013 World Cup. Willie returned to Australia after leaving the Saints to take up with the Sydney Roosters, where he mostly provided much needed experience at reserve grade level.
