 HERITAGE NO : 1232 Calvin Wellington, a centre by trade with excellent pace, came to Saints with his good friend Regan Grace after playing together in the Welsh rugby union team Aberavon Quins in 2015. Calvin, who attended Neath Port Talbot College, had connections with South Wales Scorpions rugby league Under 16s and Under 19s before joining Saints’ Under 19s team. He progressed to the seniors, making his debut against Huddersfield at Magic Weekend in 2016, although the Giants came away with the spoils on the day. For Calvin, the next port of call was Sheffield Eagles on loan, joining at the same time as Liam Cooper and Jonah Cunningham. An injury-blighted spell with Newport Gwent Dragons followed, before he returned to his first love, rugby league, with Workington Town, helping the club to promotion in the Betfred Championship. He later joined Oldham, where he hoped to continue his run of good form. |
