MATCH REPORT

MATCH REPORT : Saints took the lead in the 12th minute. A great run down the heart of the York defence from Zoe Harris saw her get stopped inches short of the line, on the next play the ball found its way to Leah Burke who was able to score underneath some York defenders. Harris added the conversion, 6-0 we led. The lead only lasted three minutes. York had a set on the Saints line and on the last tackle Saints were unable to react to the ball quick enough which allowed Grace Field to ground the ball. Tara-Jane Stanley added the extras, the scores were tied at 6-6 which is how it remained at the break. York then took the lead in the 54th minute as Stanley went on a mazey run close to the Saints line and grounded the ball. She converted her own try to give York a 12-6 lead. York then sealed their win in the 78th minute as Stanley kicked a one-pointer from in front of the sticks to give the Knights a 13-6 victory over the reigning Women’s Super League Champions.
