MATCH REPORT

MATCH REPORT : A superb late try from Ade Gardner was not enough to gain victory as Huddersfield Giants beat Saints 17-16 at the Galpharm Stadium. Danny Brough kicked a splendid one pointer to give his side a 17-12 lead heading into the final stages. However a stunning late try from Ade Gardner in the corner left the game on a knife edge. Sadly, Jonny Lomax could not slot the conversion from the touchline and the Giants did just enough to repel borders at the end, as Saints threw everything to find the killer score. The Saints led 12-4 at the break to give themselves a solid platform for the second half. In the first stanza, tries from Lee Gaskell and Jonny Lomax cancelled out a score from Luke George as the visitors thoroughly deserved to take the advantage. Huddersfield took the lead in the second half as a brace of tries from Luke George completed an impressive hat trick. Saints had a couple of sets to break down the Giants defence but could not find the last tackle option to sneak the win.
